چکیده
Abstract This paper proposes a reduced-dimensional model for the structural optimisation of conjugate heat transfer between parallel plates with constant temperature and fluid channel varying height. The considers conduction convection through planar version convection-diffusion equation. To significantly reduce computational time process, assumptions on through-thickness velocity fields are made, allowing to transform three-dimensional problem two-dimensional one. accuracy limitations investigated an in-depth parametric analysis seen be acceptable in context when considering reduced cost. allow topology topography, local height is linearly interpolated based design field. parametrisation combined provides physical meaning intermediate variables removes traditional requirement 0–1 discrete solutions optimisation. allows free switch topography optimisation, but it illustrated various examples that only changes relevant treated problems. Two examples, square exchanger manifold exchanger, demonstrate sufficiently accurate applied In comparison shape using full model, demonstrated can achieve equivalent optimised designs at lower Graphical abstract

Multi-boiling Heat Transfer Analysis of a Convective Straight Fin with Temperature-Dependent Thermal Properties and Internal Heat Generation
In this study, by using the finite volume method, the heat transfer in a convective straight fin with temperature-dependent thermal properties and an internal heat generation under multi-boiling heat transfer modes are analyzed. In this regard, the local heat transfer coefficient is considered to vary within a power-law function of temperature. In the present study, the coexistence of all the b...

The steady three-dimensional boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a dusty fluid towards a stretching sheet with convective boundary conditions is investigated by using similarity solution approach. The free stream along z-direction impinges on the stretching sheet to produce a flow with different velocity components. The governing equations are reduced into ordinary differential equations b...

متن کاملModeling heat and mass transfer in laminar forced flow between parallel plates channel imposed to suction or injection
A numerical model is developed to simulate the transport phenomena in the flow channel between parallel plates with porous and non-porous (or impermeable) walls. The continuity and momentum equations were solved first, assuming the wall Reynolds number in the range of with the suction or injection of air at a speed equal to the uniform inlet velocity. The results show that at constant inlet and...
متن کاملImproving the natural convective heat transfer of a rectangular heatsink using superhydrophobic walls: A numerical approach
The effect of utilizing superhydrophobic walls on improving the convective heat transfer in a rectangular heatsink has been studied numerically in this paper. The vertical walls were kept at isothermal hot-and-cold temperatures and horizontal walls were insulated. The boundary condition on the walls was: no-slip for regular, and slip (with slip length of 500 µm) for superhydrophobic walls. By c...
